Monthly Archives: April 2010

It was sunny, it was windy and the small debris kept going though the timing lights causing people’s runs to start 2 seconds early or end while they were on course.  This didn’t stop the racers from having a great day.  The sun beat down but the same breeze that caused trouble with the timing lights kept everything feeling great.   Scotty D (2nd photo) came through to beat both his parents in their car!  It was a great day for racing and all 56 entries seemed to enjoy the time on the track.  Want to see more photos from the event head on over to RaySoldano.com for more.

For the past four years I have enjoyed the privilege of competing with the people of Region 94 of the SCCA.  While this group races hard and gives no quarter they have given much to me and mine.  Many in this group have given much to my son as he progressed from Karts to Cars while having to listen to his non-stop mouth (and mine).  I wonder if, at this time, he knows the value of your casual coaching and advice.  I do, and I thank you all.  I am extremely proud of my son and you folks had a lot to do with that.  You people go beyond putting on an event and I sometimes wonder how many understand the amount of time you put into it, for them.  I do and I thank you.  While we look forward to casting off our lines and heading for the  open water, we will miss some things for sure, namely Region 94.  I will miss your humor, integrity, wisdom and professionalism.  We hope you will follow along through our blogs and stay in touch.
