CRSCCA Ho Ho Solo 2010 Due to the cold conditions I didn’t stay long. From the reports I heard that everyone had a good time.  This was the last race at the Auto Auction site and they made good use of the space.   I managed to get photos of the first run group but left before the second started.  If you were in the second group I’m sorry I didn’t get any photos.  Photos are up and available by clicking here or like always you can click the link on the left to view all … Read More

Here is a run from the day.

Turkeys Fly Solo The day started off cold and warmed up enough to be nice.  We had some good close racing and again Scotty came up and beat his parents in their car.  I think they are going to make him drive his own from now on.  We had the Factory Five racers show up again which is always nice to watch those cars as the drivers feather the throttle around the course.  I don't know if it was the cold, the extra hour of sleep or just the fact that Jeff was in an e … Read More

Photos haven’t been processed.  Here are a couple of videos that have been posted by drivers at the event.

We Don't Need Tops to Race It was a wet day at the Chattanooga Auto Auction but that didn't stop 3 beautiful cars from coming out to play.  They didn't have tops but I don't think it matters when you are racing. Fully gallery from the race can be seen here. … Read More

August Heat Solo The weather was great, the course was fast and there was one cone that took a beating.  As you can see in the picture to the left some were even flexing their muscles in order to scare the competition but I’m unsure if fright was the response that came from the flexing.  It was a great day to race or watch and there were some cool cars. like the Viper. If you haven’t come out before you should, if you wanted to come out but couldn’t make it and w … Read More

It was sunny, it was windy and the small debris kept going though the timing lights causing people’s runs to start 2 seconds early or end while they were on course.  This didn’t stop the racers from having a great day.  The sun beat down but the same breeze that caused trouble with the timing lights kept everything feeling great.   Scotty D (2nd photo) came through to beat both his parents in their car!  It was a great day for racing and all 56 entries seemed to enjoy the time on the track.  Want to see more photos from the event head on over to RaySoldano.com for more.

For the past four years I have enjoyed the privilege of competing with the people of Region 94 of the SCCA.  While this group races hard and gives no quarter they have given much to me and mine.  Many in this group have given much to my son as he progressed from Karts to Cars while having to listen to his non-stop mouth (and mine).  I wonder if, at this time, he knows the value of your casual coaching and advice.  I do, and I thank you all.  I am extremely proud of my son and you folks had a lot to do with that.  You people go beyond putting on an event and I sometimes wonder how many understand the amount of time you put into it, for them.  I do and I thank you.  While we look forward to casting off our lines and heading for the  open water, we will miss some things for sure, namely Region 94.  I will miss your humor, integrity, wisdom and professionalism.  We hope you will follow along through our blogs and stay in touch.

Farwell, The Scotts

The day started off wet, really wet.  There were issues with the timers that caused delays.  Morale was low and there were a few people that said we should just call it quits.  After another snag with the timing an early lunch was called.  Everyone went to grab some fuel for their bodies and when lunch break was over the timers were fixed, the rain had stopped and even the sun started to show itself.  Shortly after that the sun broke through, the wind picked up and the course quickly dried.  Morale picked up and everyone was back into full race mode.  As you can see from this photo that I took (actually it’s about 5 photos stitched together ) that it is hard to stay in a bad mood with a sky that pretty, an autocross course set up and the sound of engines just ready to be put through their paces.  If you want to see more photos from the day visit my site, RaySoldano.com.
